RetentionTek

RetentionTek vs GoHighLevel

RetentionTek vs GoHighLevel

GoHighLevel is a white-label marketing platform built to be resold by agencies: funnels, calendars, workflows, a review module. The price floor is low and the real bill is a usage wallet. If you are the salon rather than the agency, you become the implementer. RetentionTek is one import, $199 for a location, and it measures returns.

Where they are strong

Where GoHighLevel is strong

  • Breadth. Funnels, calendars, pipelines, email and SMS in one account, for $97 to $497 a month.
  • White-label and snapshot cloning, so an agency can resell it under its own brand.
  • A large community and a template library. Implementation help is easy to buy.
  • A price floor no vertical product matches, if you already have the skills.
  • A review module and reputation tooling we do not ship.

Where we differ

Where RetentionTek differs

  • The bill is knowable. GoHighLevel adds an uncapped usage wallet on top of the subscription; reported realistic totals run $200 to $600. Ours is $199 with 10,000 emails included and no overage charge.
  • Time to value is one import, not a build. The learning curve is described in 38% of one 89-review corpus, and implementations are commonly quoted at 4 to 8 weeks.
  • Deliverability is your own sender reputation through a connected Google or Microsoft mailbox. GoHighLevel runs shared infrastructure, with a documented open-rate collapse after migration.
  • Retention measurement is native. GoHighLevel has no return-behaviour score; it has automation you configure.
  • Nobody has to build anything. There is no workflow to design before the first useful screen.

Price reality

The subscription is not the bill

GoHighLevel publishes $97, $297 and $497 tiers. Every send, call and AI action draws on a usage wallet on top, and reviews report the auto-recharge cannot be switched off.

  • Reported realistic all-in: $200 to $600/mo once the wallet is used.
  • Third-party implementation help is commonly $150 to $300/mo on top, or 4 to 8 weeks of your own time.
  • HIPAA is a $297/mo add-on with a BAA, not a default.
  • RetentionTek: $199/mo, 10,000 emails included, no overage charge, no wallet.

A wallet is honest until it is uncapped. We chose the opposite shape: a fixed allowance, a published price, and a published rate past it, so the worst case is arithmetic rather than a surprise. If you send far more than 10,000 emails a month you probably need a different tool, and we will say so.

Keep your booking system

Keep your booking system. GoHighLevel is not one either

GoHighLevel is a marketing platform, not a booking system, so the complement logic is the same as everywhere else: your booking system stays, the visit history comes out of it, and the retention layer sits on top. The difference is that GoHighLevel expects you to build the layer. We ship it configured.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers

Is GoHighLevel cheaper than RetentionTek?

The subscription can be, at $97. The bill usually is not, because the usage wallet is uncapped and implementation is either weeks of your time or a monthly fee to someone else. Compare the all-in figure, not the tier price, and include what your own hours are worth.

Can GoHighLevel do retention?

It can automate anything you configure, including win-back sequences. What it does not do is measure whether customers returned, so the sequence runs on your assumptions rather than on a score. If you enjoy building workflows, that is a real capability. If you do not, it is a project.

Why is deliverability a problem on GoHighLevel?

It sends from shared infrastructure. Third-party analyses document an open-rate collapse after migration, from roughly 35 to 40% to 9% in one case, and GoHighLevel's own documentation notes that custom SMTP loses several deliverability features. RetentionTek sends from your connected mailbox, so your reputation is your own.

Does RetentionTek have funnels and calendars?

No. No funnel builder, no calendar, no pipeline board. That is the trade for a product that is useful on day one. If you need a funnel builder, GoHighLevel has one and we do not.

What about HIPAA?

GoHighLevel sells HIPAA as a $297 a month add-on with a BAA. RetentionTek takes visits, not charts, so it never becomes your medical record. A BAA is on the roadmap and not yet signed; until it is, we do not claim HIPAA compliance.

Can my agency run RetentionTek for clients?

Yes, one workspace per client, and a published price makes the margin predictable. What you do not get is white-label branding or snapshot cloning. If resale is the business model rather than a side line, GoHighLevel is the better platform.
